Gus Guardino

Gus has been serving as the Director of Strength and Conditioning at Moorpark High School for the past 13 years.  In addition to his duties as strength coach, Gus also functions as the assistant Athletic Trainer and the on-site injury rehabilitation specialist for many of the athletic teams on campus with his primary focus being football.  He also coaches for the Moorpark High School Track team with his specialization being sprints, hurdles, and speed development coordinator for the team.  

Upon graduation from Crespi Carmelite High School, Gus attended Gonzaga University where he earned a B.S. degree in Biology.  After graduation he served for 6 years in the U.S. Air Force.  Gus returned to school in 1996 at California State University Northridge to pursue a degree in Kinesiology.  He was awarded a B.S. degree in Kinesiology, and went on to attain a graduate degree in Bio-mechanics.   

In addition to his 40+ years of coaching experience, Gus currently brings over 30 years of personal and sport performance training, as well as numerous years of experience in health club management, program design and implementation to this venture. He holds national certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, National Academy of Sports Medicine as well as USA Track and Field and USA Weightlifting.   As a result of his longevity in the health and fitness industry, Gus has developed lasting relationships with hundreds of individuals in the sport and fitness industries, including doctors, physical therapists, chiropractors, personal trainers and equipment manufacturers.
